How It All Started & Why
LeadGem was founded by Marijn, a senior growth hacker who worked at several major B2B marketing agencies like Endeavour and NoBears. While he valued the experimental growth mindset these agencies championed, he noticed a fundamental flaw in their approach: generalization.
"It doesn't make sense that as a Growth Hacker you would be doing everything from creating LinkedIn ads to setting up outbound campaigns to optimizing website pages and everything in between," Marijn realized.
This insight sparked his mission to specialize deeply in a specific area of B2B growth. When he discovered Clay's powerful automation capabilities, it was like finding the missing puzzle piece that perfectly aligned with his vision. The connection was so strong that Marijn made the decisive move to leave his senior position at Sprints & Sneakers to go all-in on this specialized approach.
The focus paid off quickly, with LeadGem becoming one of the first two Clay-certified agencies in the Netherlands. Just three months after founding, Edem joined the team, bringing even more technical expertise that extended beyond Clay's capabilities. A year later, Wesley came on board to focus on scaling and productizing our outbound and recruitment systems.
